Arts Department

The General Federation of Women's Clubs Pennsylvania Arts Department
sponsors an annual fine arts competition for youth and adults. Contests are held
on the club, county, district, state, and national levels in crafts, photography,
art, literature, and performing arts.

GFWC MEMBER SCRAPBOOK CONTEST
There is a new category in the 2007 Festival of the Arts.
Scrapbook entries will be judged on the Club, County, District and
State levels. The State winner will be displayed at the 2007 GFWC
Convention in Philadelphia.

Guidelines:
Size: Not larger than 12 ½” x 12 ½ ”, nor more than 20 pages.
Content: Subject matter is artist’s choice.
Deadline: Scrapbooks do not have to be made in the calendar year.
Point System: – (100 Points total)
1. Neatness, originality, and general appearance of scrapbook
    (10 points)
2. Introductory page (Should include member’s name, address, phone,
    email and a general description of contents)
    (5 points)
3. Artistic presentation of contents
    (50 points)
4. Variety of subject matter
    (5 points)
5. Variety of scrapbook items (photos, certificates, mementos)
    (30 points)

Members are encouraged to ask their club presidents or district arts
chairman for details.

In addition, GFWC suggests resources and programs for member clubs,
such as VSA Arts, which creates opportunities for children and
adults with disabilities.
