Our Bylaws govern how we conduct business of GFWC PA and our Resolutions tell the public where we stand on issues. Both require publication and presentation to and debate and vote by the membership at the Annual State Convention.

Please review the GFWC PA Bylaws & Resolutions, which can be found in the GFWC PA Directory sent to each club annually. If you would like to receive an electronic copy, please send request to gfwcpaclubs@comcast.com. GFWC Resolutions can be found here under “R”.

If you would like help with or information about Bylaws or Resolutions, feel free to contact anyone on the committee. Suggestions are welcome and encouraged.

New resolutions or amendments to current resolutions and amendments to bylaws may be submitted by any club holding active membership by forwarding the information to the GFWC PA Bylaws and Resolutions Chairman before October 15th annually.

GFWC RESOLUTIONS YOUTH PROJECT

GOAL: Provide middle/high school age youths with the skills needed to engage in the legislation process.

The project is a perfect fit for involvement with your local school or youth group and by a Juniorette Club. GFC has developed supporting items to help clubs interested in this project that include:

  • GFWC Juniorette Club Implementation Guideline

  • School or Youth Group Implementation Guideline

  • PowerPoint and handouts for presentation to school or Youth Group Official

  • Suggested Lesson Plan for implementation

  • “How To Write A Resolution” handout

  • Resolution Worksheet

Participation in the project can be reported under the Education & Libraries CSP, the Civic Engagement Outreach CSP or Legislation & Public Policy. Because it is a new project, information on successes or failures and suggestions would be appreciated by the GFWC Resolutions Committee. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Chairman.

Any resolutions developed because of participation in the project could be adopted by the sponsoring club or Juniorette Club and presented for adoption by GFWC Pennsylvania. To have a Resolution adopted by GFWC PA, send information to the Chairman by October 15th. If the resolution is national in scope and adopted by GFWC Pennsylvania, it will be sent to GFWC for consideration.
